Hemerion’s technology is cited as an example of a major trend in healthcare innovation in StartUs Insights’ 2023 report.

Since 2014, StartUs Insights has analyzed the evolution of nearly 4 million startups across all technology sectors. The company has developed several artificial intelligence tools to detect emerging technology trends and identify the most promising startups.
Startus Insights recently conducted a specific analysis of more than 3,500 healthcare startups. This analysis identified 10 major trends in the healthtech sector: telemedicine, gene therapy, virtual and augmented reality, digital solutions, personalized medicine, nanotechnology, biohacking, minimally invasive surgery, and combination therapies.

This last category includes innovative health technologies that combine multiple agents to improve existing treatments and overall therapeutic efficacy, such as the combination of inhaled corticosteroids and long-acting beta-agonists to treat asthma or the use of immunotherapy to treat cancer.
Hemerion is cited as an example in this category, highlighting its combination therapy combining a photosensitive molecule (Pentalafen®) and an innovative light platform (Heliance®) to improve the treatment of glioblastoma, the most aggressive form of brain cancer.
