In late July 2026, Hemerion was notified of the granting of new patents in two major healthcare markets: the United States and Japan. This international expansion strengthens Hemerion’s intellectual property portfolio and secures the rollout of its interventional oncology platform in these markets. It also validates the technology’s originality and its ability to advance standards of care in oncology.
In late July 2026, Hemerion received two official notices of patent grants in the United States and Japan. These notices further strengthen the company’s existing patent portfolio in those countries.
These patents safeguard a proprietary technology central to the interventional oncology platform developed by Hemerion. It is based on an innovative system for delivering a specific type of light into the postoperative cavity, which uses a photochemical effect to neutralize residual cancer cells after resection, while sparing surrounding healthy tissue.
The system automatically calculates and delivers highly precise doses of light energy to optimize therapeutic effects, adapts to the morphology of surgical cavities, and offers optimized ergonomics for the surgeon, resulting in rapid and safe application.

Another milestone achieved in integrating standards of care in oncology
These two approvals strengthen Hemerion’s intellectual property portfolio and enhance its value in two major healthcare markets: the United States and Japan.
They significantly bolster the international rollout of the interventional oncology platform developed for the treatment of glioblastoma, for which Hemerion has a clinical development program at a very advanced stage.
This is a particularly significant advantage in the United States, where Hemerion is already very active, with a Phase 1/2 clinical trial for which patient enrollment was completed in June 2026.
This patent also paves the way for extending the platform to other oncology indications, particularly in the treatment of solid tumors, as a complement to standard of care: surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy.
